Geschweifte Beine in Bronzesabots stehend, mit zweischübigem Korpus sans traverse mit umlaufenden, ornamentalen antikisierenden Marketeriefeld und Spiegelfunier. Beschläge in vergoldeter Bronze, fein ziseliert in Lorbeerblatt-Ornamentik. Die profilierte Deckplatte den Zügen des Möbels folgend in Rouge Royal. (1210463) (2) (13)


Large Baroque commode

88.5 x 174.5 x 65.5 cm.
Stamped “Schmitz Josef”, master from 18 July 1761.

An expert’s report by Xavier de Cleval dated 16 January 2019 with no. “21904” is enclosed. A piece of furniture by the same master is held at the Huntington Collection San Marino/ California.

Curved legs on bronze sabots with two-drawer structure sans traverse with ornamental marquetry field and mirror veneer all around. Gilt-bronze, finely chased fittings with laurel leaf ornaments. The profiled rouge royal table top follows the contours of the commode.
