Omar Galliani,
1954 Montecchio Emilia
Er studierte an der Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna und Malerei an der Accademia di Belle Arti in Carrara. Seit den 80er Jahren stellte er auf den Biennalen in Venedig, Sao Paolo und Peking aus. In seinen oft zeichnerischen Arbeiten bedient er sich der Technik des Sfumato. In seinen weiblichen Bildnissen verbindet er abendländische Ikonographie mit orientalischer Ruhe.

Vor grauem Untergrund hebt sich hell das Bildnis einer verschleierten Frau ab, deren Augen nach links gerichtet sind, die Lider leicht gesenkt. Das weiche Sfumato der Malerei und ihre geheimnisvolle Ausstrahlung lassen sogleich an Leonardos Mona Lisa denken. Überlagert wird das Bildnis von einem feinen Netz elliptischer Kratzer eines Abschleifvorgangs sowie einer in bläulichem Stift in die Oberfläche gravierten Umriss-Darstellung einer Blume. (9401920)
