Der Künstler besuchte das Regio Istituto di Belle Arti in Modena, wo er sich auf das figürliche Gestalten konzentrierte. In den 20er Jahren arbeitete er im Umkreis der Gruppe Novecento in Mailand und stellte erstmals auf der Biennale aus. Reggiani gilt als einer der wichtigsten Vertreter der italienischen abstrakten und konkreten Kunst in Italien.
