Mosson studierte an der Berliner Akademie bei Steffek so wie auch Max Liebermann. Mehr noch als zum Beispiel bei Max Liebermann oder Slevogt leben seine Bilder fast allein aus der Farbe. Als Potrait- und Blumenmaler entwickelte er sich zu einem reinen Impressionisten deutscher Prägung.
