Der griechischen Sage zur Folge verliebte sich Zeus in die Königstochter Leda, näherte sich ihr in Gestalt eines Schwans und schwängerte sie. In einem gemalten Hochoval, vor einem aufgehängten Tuch stehend die schöne junge Leda mit nacktem Oberkörper und einem weißen Gewand mit blauem Umhang. Sie hat blondes langes Haar mit einer Perlenkette, zudem trägt sie einen Perlohrring. Sie ist leicht nach hinten gebeugt und hält mit ihrer linken Hand einen weißen Schwan, während sie ihn mit ihrer rechten Hand leicht abzuwehren scheint. Mit ihrem leicht geöffnetem roten Mund und den dunklen blauen Augen blickt sie gelassen und sinnlich aus dem Bild heraus. In der Malerei der Kunstgeschichte beliebtes Motiv. (1381554) (4) (18)
