In weiter Landschaft unter hohem Himmel mit weißen Wolken ein prachtvoller, nach linksstehender weiß-brauner Stier mit Hörnern, den Blick nach vorne gerichtet auf einen Hirten, der seine Herde vorantreibt. Linksseitig des Stieres im Gras eine kleine Gruppe mit Schafen und einer Ziege. Malerei in der typischen Manier des niederländischen Künstlers in warmen Farbtönen.
Anmerkung:
Klomps Gemälde setzen die Tradition von Paulus Potter (1625-1654) und Adriaen van de Velde (1636-1672) fort. Die signierten Bilder des Künstlers gibt es erst ab 1657, was dafürspricht, dass er erst spät einen eigenen Stil entwickelte. Seine Bilder sind handwerklich auf hohem Niveau. (1360021) (18)
