Bergige Landschaft mit einer Stadt an einem breiten Fluss, der über zwei Kaskaden verläuft und dabei seine Breite verringert. An dessen Ufer zwei Angler, einer eine Angelrute nach oben haltend. Am rechten Uferrand ragen zudem idyllisch zwei alte Bäume in den hohen hellblauen Himmel. Harmonische Malerei in der typischen Manier des Künstlers. Minimale Retuschen.
Paolo Anesi war zusammen mit Andrea Locatelli (1695-1741), Paolo Monaldi (um 1710-1779) und Alessio Demarchis (1684-1752) einer der bedeutendsten Landschaftsmaler der römischen Künstlerszene des 18. Jahrhunderts. (1300554) (18)
