Vor braunem Hintergrund, auf einer marmorierten braunen Steinplatte stehend, eine bauchige Keramikvase, bemalt mit einer Flusslandschaft, darin die prachtvoll arrangierten Blumen. Zu diesen gehören Rosen, Nelken, Primeln, Löwenmäulchen, Stockrosen, Dahlien, eine blaue Iris und eine auf die Platte herabhängende Trichterwinde. Auf der Platte zudem liegend ein kleiner Zweig mit Rosenblüten. Feine Malerei in der typischen Manier des Künstlers. Vereinzelt kleine Retuschen.
Der in Amsterdam geborene Künstler erhielt bei dem Maler Jacobus Linthorst (1745/55-1815) seine künstlerische Ausbildung in der Malerei von Frucht- und Blütenstillleben. Bei Zeitgenossen fanden diese Werke große Aufmerksamkeit. (12901619) (18)
