Dreiviertelbildnis, das die nach links sitzende Dargestellte auf einem rot bezogenen Armlehnstuhl zeigt. Die linke Hand auf die Lehne gelegt, die rechte hält einen Handschuh. Die gesellschaftliche Bedeutung der Porträtierten wird durch die von einem Velum mit Goldquaste überhangene Säule gekennzeichnet. Das schwarze Seidenkleid zeigt Damastmuster, der Mühlsteinkragen fein plissiert. Das hellbraune Haar zu einem Knoten gebunden.
Die hier vermutlich Dargestellte, Anna van Noort, war die Tochter des Malers Adam van Noort (1562 Antwerpen-1641), der P.P. Rubens und dessen Schüler A. van Dyck ausgebildet hat. Auch Jacob Jordaens zählte zu seinen Schülern, der wiederum Annas Schwester Catharina ehelichte. A.R.
