Unter hohem Himmel, mit großen grauen Gewitterwolken, die stark bewegte See, auf der drei Schiffe gegen die starken Wellen ankämpfen. Auf dem prachtvollen beflaggten Dreimaster in der Bildmitte einige Staffagefiguren, die aufs Meer schauen. Am rechten Bildrand einige Felsen des Ufers erkennbar.
