Betont breitformatiges Tafelgemälde mit einem Rundtempel im Zentrumshintergrund, seitlich weitere Gebäude im Repoussoir, davor dicht gedrängte wogende Menge von römischen Soldaten und zum Teil entblößten Sabinerinnen, die sich der Eroberung erwehren. Rechts im Bild der römsiche Stadtgründer Romulus zu Pferd, links als Pendant ebenfalls hervorgehoben ein behelmter Soldat, der soeben eine Sabinerin im Arm hält. (1141325) (2) (11)
