Der Künstler erhielt seine Ausbildung an der königlichen Kunsthochschule in Den Haag und verbrachte nach einem dreijährigen Aufenthalt in Brüssel einige Zeit in München, wo er das Polyptychon Die Erschaffung (1987-92) malte. 1999 zog er nach Belgien. Der Künstler nahm mit seinen naturalistisch aufgefassten Gemälden an zahlreichen Ausstellungen in Amsterdam, Maastricht, Ostende in Belgien sowie Zwolle und London teil.
