In Kopie liegt das Gutachten von Paul M. Arnold, 1. Vorsitzender des Hans-Leinberger-Vereins vom 21. Februar 2005 vor.
Über einer mitgeschnitzten, polygonalen, niedrigen Plinthe der gewandverhüllte Körper eines männlichen Bischofsheiligen, welcher sich mittels seiner Attribute (drei Kugeln auf einem Buch liegend) als der Heilige Nikolaus ausweist. Die in weiten Teilen wohl originale Fassung weist Fehlstellen auf und ist etwas übergangen.
Provenienz:
Kirche in Landshut oder Vilsbiburg, danach ländliche Hauskapelle zwischen diesen Städten.
Anmerkung:
Arnold kommt zu dem Schluss, dass die Skulptur "ein typisches, unverkennbares Werk Jörg Rots aus der Zeit etwa 1515 bis 1520 (ist)". Arnold vergleicht die Skulptur mit den Heiligen Jungfrauen in Achdorf sowie den Heiligen Bischöfen desselben Meisters in Stollnried, Martinszell und St. Theobald in Geisenhausen. (990081) (13)

A copy of the expert's report by Paul M. Arnold, 1. Chairman of the Hans- Leinberger society, dated 21 February 2005 is enclosed.
Note:
Mr Arnold concludes that the sculpture is "a typical, unmistakeable work by Jörg Rot from around 1515 to 1520".
