Institutiones geometricae. Vier Blatt, 185 Seiten, ein Blatt, mit drei großen und zahlreichen kleinen Holzschnitt-Figuren sowie zwei ausklappbaren Holzschnitt-Tafeln. Neuerer Lederband mit aufwändiger Blindprägung.
Erste lateinische Ausgabe der "Unterweisung der Messung", seltener als das deutsche Original. Enthält u.a. die Musteralphabete, zahlreiche schematische Darstellungen sowie die bekannten Holzschnitte "Der Portraitzeichner" und "Der Lautenzeichner". Dürer erklärt, wie die Geometrie beim Zeichnen und Malen verwendet werden kann. "These methods were to be applied to architecture, painting, lettering (Durer designed both Roman and Gothic letters) and ornamental forms in general, and his book is therefore addressed not only to artists but also to sculptors, architects, goldsmiths, stonemasons and other craftsmen" (Printing and the Mind of Man). Titel etwas fleckig und mit kleinen Ausbesserungen ohne Textverlust. Durchgehend leicht wurmstichig, nur gering gebräunt. (931591)
