Die Monogrammierung LH steht für Hortense Ludwig Napoleon, König von Holland.
Provenienz:
Baron von Tuyll van Serooskerken. Louis Napoléon Bonaparte, auch König Ludwig I. von Holland, 1778-1846, war einer der vier Brüder des Kaisers Napoléon I. von Frankreich. 1802 heiratete er Hortense de Beauharnais, die Stieftochter Napoléons. Sie war Tochter aus der ersten Ehe Josephines und deshalb auch Louis’ Nichte. Wie bei vielen “von oben“ angeordneten Eheschließungen wurde es kein glücklicher Bund fürs Leben. Louis Napoléon Bonaparte und Hortense de Beauharnais hatten drei Söhne:
1. Napoléon Charles Bonaparte 1802-1807, er starb im Alter von 4 1/2 Jahren. 2. Napoléon Louis Bonaparte 1804-1831. 3. Charles Louis Napoléon Bonaparte, 1808-1873. Er war von 1852-1870 als Napoléon III. Kaiser von Frankreich. (590031)
