Diese von der Natur vollzogene, kunstvoll komponierte Vereinigung von Ammoniten und Muscheln unterschiedlicher Größe und Farbe zeugt von den Meeren der Vergangenheit. Benannt als „Ammons Hörner“, nach dem altägyptischen Gott des Lebens und der Fortpflanzung, der für seine Widderhörner bekannt war, werden Ammoniten seit Tausenden von Jahren von Kulturen auf der ganzen Welt geschätzt. Ammoniten sind ausgestorbene Kopffüßer, die für die Erforschung von Geologie und Paläontologie gleichermaßen schön und wichtig sind. Ammoniten zeichnen sich durch Schalenverzierungen und Nahtlinien aus. Über 30 kunstvoll präparierte Ammoniten, die zwischen einem und 16 Zoll groß sind, zeigen die Rippung und die farnartigen Nähte der Schale in Creme- und warmen Brauntönen mit einem Hauch von Opaleszenz. Auf einem speziell angefertigten Ebenholzsockel präsentiert, offenbart dieses faszinierende Naturschauspiel bei jedem Blick endlose Details. (†) (13021010) (13)
