Simeti gehört zu den bekanntesten und bedeutendsten Vertretern der Gruppe ZERO in Italien. Inspiriert durch eine Begegnung mit Alberto Burri (1915-1995) in Rom, begann er erst mit Anfang dreißig zu malen. 1965 zog der Künstler nach Mailand, wo er der Gruppe ZERO beitrat, zu der auch Enrico Castellani (geb. 1930) und Agostino Bonalumi (1935-2013) gehörten.
Werke des Künstlers befinden sich u.a. im Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro in Brasilien, im Museo d’Arte Moderna, Bozen, in der Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna, Turin, und im Wilhelm-Hack-Museum, Ludwigshafen. (11001610) (12)

Simeti is one of the most famous and important members of the artist group ZERO in Italy. Inspired by his acquaintance with Alberto Burri (1915 - 1995), Simeti, who had relocated to Rome aged 30, started painting. The artist moved to Milan in 1965 where he joined the artist group ZERO whose members included Castellani and Bonalumi among others. Works by the artist are held at the Museu de Arte Moderna, Rio de Janeiro, the Museo d’Arte Moderna, Bozen, the Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna, Turin and at the Wilhelm-Hack-Museum, Ludwigshafen.
