Blick von höherem Standpunkt auf die französische Gemeinde Mirmande. Deutlich zu erkennen ihre Lage auf einer Anhöhe über dem Tal der Rhone mit ihren Häusern und Feld- und Bergeinteilungen in überwiegend kubistischen Formen, dabei in harmonischer, zurückhaltender Farbgebung. Typisches Werk für den bekannten französischen Künstler.
Anmerkung:
Der Künstler, dessen Werk dem Kubismus zuzuordnen ist, studierte an der École des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux. Er zog nach Paris, leitete eine eigene Malschule und gründete 1922 am Montparnasse die angesehene Académie Lhote. Zu seinen Schülern gehörte die Malerin Tamara de Lempicka. (1300552) (18)
