Mit diesem Gemälde stellen wir unseren Kunden ein Werk vor, das von Dario Succi eindeutig dem Venezianer Franceso Tironi zugewiesen wird und das eines der beliebtesten Motive aller Venedigveduten zeigt. Von Tironi wird in der Wiener Albertina sowie in der National Gallery in Washington, in der Robert Lehman Collection, im Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York und in weiteren Privatsammlungen eine Serie von 24 Zeichnungen bewahrt, die den etwas eklektizistischen Stil Tironis herausstellen. Während seine frühen Arbeiten noch eine Nähe zu Canaletto verspüren lassen, wirken seine späteren Arbeiten eher expressiv wie die von Francesco Guardi. Das hier angebotene Gemälde wird von Succi auf ca. 1780 datiert.

In this lot we are presenting our clients with a work that Dario Succi clearly attributes to the Venetian artist Francesco Tironi and which shows one of the most popular motifs of Venetian veduta painting. A series of 24 drawings by Tironi are held in the Albertina in Vienna, as well as in the National Gallery in Washington, in the Robert Lehman Collection, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and in other private collections, emphasizing the somewhat eclectic style of Tironi. While his early works still suggest a closeness to Canaletto, his later works are more expressive than those of Francesco Guardi. Succi dates the present painting to ca. 1780.
