Hochformatige Darstellung der Heiligen Familie, welche auf einem Treppenabsatz Platz genommen hat. Maria ist in ein petrolblaues Kleid gehüllt, ihr rosa Umhang überfängt sie und einen Großteil der obersten Stufe und lässt ihren Körper nur schwerlich erkennen. Das unbekleidete Jeuskind unsicher auf ihr liegend. Maria deutet mit ihrer Rechten auf ihr Kind, während der von ihr verdeckte Josef auf dem Boden gestützt ist und auf das Kind blickt. Die Szene wird hinterfangen durch einen unbestimmten Säulengang und durch ein rechts herabfallendes blaues Tuch, welches als Repoussoir dient. In fein graviertem gegosssenem Ormolu Barockrahmen.
