Der Heilige in brauner Mönchskutte in Dreiviertelfigur, nach links lagernd in einer Landschaft, der Oberkörper angelehnt an eine verschattete Höhlenwand links im Bild. Die rechte Hand an die Brust geführt, der Blick nach oben gerichtet, davor auf einem Stein ein geöffnetes Buch. Rechts leicht erhöht erscheint dem Heiligen Visionär eine Violine spielende Engelsgestalt aus helleren Wolken, seitlich Durchblick in weite Landschaft mit einer blauen Gebirgskette. Links oben ein im Dunkel erkennbares, offenes Dachgebälk mit Durchblick ins Firmament. Die Szenerie in starkem Hell-Dunkel vorgeführt, in einer Art "stillen Dramatik", wie sie dem Visionsgedanken entspricht. (971494)
