Der Künstler war in Brescia Schüler von Girolamo Romani, setzte sein Studium unter Giovanni Antonio Canal fort, in den folgenden Jahren arbeitete er häufig in Opernhäusern von Venedig, Treviso und Triest. Neben zahlreichen Venedig-Ansichten schuf er auch idyllische Fantasielandschaften.

Einheitlich gerahmt.
Fantasielandschaften mit römischen Ruinen und reicher Figurenstaffage. Eines der Bilder zeigt ein hohes Mauertor, das über einer Steinbrücke steht, mit nach rechts ziehendem Flusslauf mit heller Wasserkaskade, am Ufer mehrere Hirten und Frauen sowie ein Knabe, der ein Rind zur Tränke führt. Im Gegenstück das ruinöse Mauerwerk nach rechts versetzt, davor ebenfalls wieder ein Gewässer mit Wäscherinnen am Ufer, an der Hügelanhöhe mehrere Eselreiter sowie ein Planwagen. Die Beleuchtung gibt die beiden Gemälde als Morgen- und Abendstimmung wieder. (960861)
