Jedes der beiden Bilder zeigt zwei junge Frauen in einem Harem, jeweils auf einer Ruhebank mit Wasserpfeife bzw. mit einem Räuchergefäß mit Halbmondbekrönung. Die beiden Mädchen im Gespräch und jeweils mit Rosenblüten hantierend, im Hintergrund bemalte Rückwand sowie daneben Ausblick in Landschaft. Der Künstler ist für seine zahlreichen orientalischen Szenen, v.a. auch Haremsszenen, bekannt geworden. Die Malweise zeigt regelmäßig anmutige Frauengestalten in ruhigem, orientalischem Interieur.
