Alberto Burri,

Der Künstler studierte Medizin, gab aber nach den Erlebnissen des 2. Weltkriegs den Arzt-Beruf auf und wurde Maler. In seinen Arbeiten verarbeitete er das Gesehene im Stil des Informel. Internationale Bekanntheit erlangte er durch seine Materialbilder. Er nahm mehrfach an der Biennale in Venedig und der Documenta in Kassel teil.
