1938 Turin – 2005 Turin
Der Künstler siedelte 1959 nach Paris über und studierte bei Severini die Mosaiktechnik. Hier lernte er auch surrealistische Künstler kennen, deren Einfluss sich in seinem Werk ab den 60er Jahren zeigt. Ab 1969 fing er an, mit ungewöhlichen Materialien wie Zucker oder Schokolade in seinen Arbeiten zu experimentieren. Mehrfach nahm er an der Biennale in Venedig teil.

Die gesamte Bildfläche wird von einem stark stilisierten Eiffel-Turm eingenommen. Der schwarze Farbauftrag über der gelben Grundierung lässt die Farbe derart durchscheinen, dass das Gemälde an einen Holzschnitt erinnert. In weiterer Andeutung und evtl. auch Vorbereitung für einen Druck ist das Wort "Eiffel" im Zentrum der unteren Bildkante gespiegelt geschrieben zu lesen. (9401044)
