Das vorliegende Werk weist bereits die Merkmale - das Blutrot und die Knotenformen im oberen Drittel, die in die nasse schwarze Farbe eingearbeitet werden - auf, die erst zum Ende der 70er Jahre charakteristisch für den Stil des Künstlers werden. Diese beiden Elemente scheinen auf dem weißen Untergrund gegeneinander zu streben, sind aber noch nicht in der Ebene miteinander vereint. Deutlich ist jedoch der Weg zu erkennen, den der Künstler in den folgenden Jahren beschreiten wird.
