Flache Dose ohne Deckel. Zylindrischer Körper über Wulstring. Die Deckelauflage ragt als dicker Wulst weit hervor. Die Außenseite mit hellblauen Grotesken auf dunkelblauem Fond in Berettino-Malerei bemalt. Die innere Wandung zieren alternierende Blüten auf hellblauem Grund, der mit weißen, kleinen Tupfen belebt ist. Im Spiegel auf dem Grund der Dose bildet sich eine geometrisch aufgebaute Blüte mit Blattverzierungen um ein zentrales, rundes Feld. Bemalung in Dunkelblau, Hellblau, Gelb und Rot. Kleine Glasurabplatzungen an den Kanten. Bruchrest.

Maiolica bowl from the Casa Pirota
Diameter: 19.5 cm.
Height: 6.5 cm.
Faenza, 16th century.

Short jar without cover. Cylindrical body over a foot ring, the rim that previously held the cover is shaped like a bulging ring. The exterior surface is painted in berettino style with light blue grotesques on a dark blue ground. The interior surface is ornamented with alternating flowers on a light blue ground, interspersed with white dots. The interior base of the jar is decorated with a geometrical flower embellished with foliage with a circular centre. Painted in dark blue, light blue, yellow and red. Minor glaze chips along the edges. Cracked and restored.
