Kalligraphisch anmutendens weißes Linienwerk vor blass grau-violettem Hintergrund. Mathieu ist einer der Hauptvertreter des Tachismus, seine Bilder sind meist ungegenständliche, von der Schnelligkeit des Malvorgangs bestimmte Kompositionen.
