Edward Alfred Cucuel,
1879 - 1954
Der Künstler war Schüler der Akademie in San Francisco, der Akademie Julian in Paris, studierte unter Jean-Léon Gérôme in Paris. Ab 1910 wirkte er in München; mit Leo Putz arbeitete er vier Jahre auf Schloss Hartmannsberg am Chiemsee. Später lebte er in Holzhausen am Ammersee, danach in München und Starnberg, wo um 1918 seine „Kahnbilder" entstanden. Ab 1939 bis zu seinem Tod verblieb er in seiner kalifornischen Heimat. Der Künstler wurde durch zahlreiche Ausstellungen geehrt, Werke seiner Hand finden sich in mehreren öffentlichen Ausstellungen.

Junge Frau in sommerlichem Gewand mit breitem Sommerhut an einem erhöhten Rasenstück nach links sitzend, unter jungen Bäumen mit hell durchlichtetem Laub. Breitpinselige, für den Maler typische impressionistische Malweise.
Gutachten:
Beigegeben ein Gutachten von Helmut Krause vom 9.2.2009 mit Nr. „1494" und der Anmerkung, dass das Gemälde in das geplante Werkverzeichnis aufgenommen wird. (821802)
