Dreiviertelbildnis der schmerzhaften Maria. Mit gefalteten Händen hält sie einen Dolch an die Brust, der Kopf mit nach oben gerichtetem Blick, gerahmt von bewegtem Kopftuch und blauem, sich über die Schultern herabziehendem Mantel. Die Kopfpartie sowie die Hände theatralisch-wirkungsvoll beleuchtet von einer rechts oben anzunehmenden Lichtquelle, zu der der Blick hinaufführt. Zudem ist das Haupt vor dunklem Hintergrund von leichtem Lichtschein hinterlegt. Das Gemälde - von hoher Malqualität - wurde im alten Sammlungszusammenhang dem Italiener Domenico Zampieri zugeschrieben, eine Zuweisung, die sich allerdings nicht halten lässt. Ungeachtet dessen ist hier ein guter Künstlername zu erwarten. Partiell besch.
