Der berühmte Arzt Philippus Theophrastus Aureolus Bombast von Hohenheim, genannt Paracelsus (1493 - 1541). Im Halbbildnis wiedergegeben, in dunkler Kleidung, mit weißem, besticktem Hemdkragen hinter einem Tisch stehend, in beiden Händen einen Gegenstand (Gefäß oder Büchlein) haltend, mit Aufschrift "AZO-". Der Kopf leicht nach links geneigt mit Blick zum Betrachter. Die Gestalt vor blau-grauem einheitlichem Hintergrund, links oben originale Beschriftung "Philippus Theophrastus/ Paracelsus". Das Gemälde dürfte auf den Stich von Augustin Hirschvogel (1503 - 1553) aus dem Jahr 1540 zurückgehen, der den berühmten Arzt in ähnlicher Weise dargestellt hat.
Altersbedingte schmale Schwundrisse in der Holzplatte.
