Frühwerk des bekannten Malers der Münchner Schule mit stimmungsvoller Wiedergabe eines im Hochgebirge verlaufenden, rauschenden Gebirgsbachs, der über Felsen herabläuft. An den Ufern kahle verwitterte Fichten zwischen Steinblöcken, im Hintergrund Nadelwald, mit Blick auf die Gipfel in der Ferne.
