Die junge Frau in neapolitanischer Tracht mit weißer Haube frontal dem Betrachter zugewandt, in erhöhter Landschaft stehend, dahinter Ausblick in Tiefebene mit Flusslauf. In der Hand hält sie einen Spinnroggen, die Spindel verwenden zwei Kinder als Kreisel, indem sie die Spitze auf einem Tamburin drehen lassen. Eines der Kinder sucht Schutz unter der Schürze der Mutter, ein Knäblein links hält einen Stock so, als ob er darauf reiten würde. Rechts im Bild tiefer liegendes Gebäude mit Glockenstuhl. Feine, der deutsch-romantischen Malerei verpflichtete Auffassung. (741132)
