Vielfigurige Szenerie am Ufer der Bucht mit Arbeitern und Kaufleuten, z.T. in orientalischer Kleidung. Im Zentrum ein höfischer Reiter auf einem Schimmel, dahinter zwei weitere Reiter. Rechts ansteigende Höhen, durch eine Burgruine bekrönt. Links in der Bucht mehrere anliegende Handelsschiffe mit bunten Flaggen, die von Arbeitern beladen werden. Hoher, bauschiger Wolkenhimmel mit auffliegenden Vögeln. Die Landschaft im milden Spätlicht und gekonnter Perspektive.
