Wiedergabe einer höfisch-gesellschaftlichen Versammlung am Rand eines Eichenwaldes nahe dem Flussufer, das von der Sommersonne beschienen wird. Im Zentrum ein ausgebreitetes Tuch mit Speisen, um das mehrere Damen in eleganter Kleidung sitzen, die sich von einem Lakaien bedienen lassen. Im weiteren Umkreis mehrere Damen und Herren sowie livrierte Diener. Am Flussufer ein Kahn mit einem Paar. Äußerst wirkungsvolle Lichtstimmung in spätimpressionistischer, zum Teil pointilistischer Malweise ausgeführt.
