Jhdt. Anmerkung: Amida Nyorai (sanskrit: Amitâbha, der "Buddha des unermesslichen Glanzes") ist die wichtigste Kultfigur der Jôdo-Sekte. Er lebt im Reinen Land, dem Paradies des Westens (jap. jôdo), wohin er die von ihm geretteten Wesen bringt, wenn sie ihn mit dem Spruch "Namu Amida butsu" anrufen. Mit dem Gestus raigoin heißt er die Seelen in das Westliche Paradies des Reinen Landes willkommen. (410111)
