DER WUNDARZT UND ALCHEMIST Dreiviertel-Bildnis eines Wundarztes, der dabei ist, einem Jungen den Zahn zu ziehen und den gezogenen Zahn in der Hand hochhält. Die Darstellung von einem gemalten steinernen Fensterrahmen umschlossen, an der Fensterbrüstung verschiedenen Utensilien wie Flasche, Instrumentenetui, Blutschüssel sowie ein Wund arztpatent mit Siegel. Der zurückgezogene Vorhang des Fensterrahmens gibt den Blick auf das Enterrieur des Alchimisten frei, im Hintergrund Regal mit Apothekergefäßen, ein Leibstuhl sowie Blick in eine weitere Kammer. Von der Decke herabhängend ein präpariertes Krokodil. Signatur G. Dou und datiert 1672 auf dem gemalten Pergament Mitte unten. 65 x 50 cm. Öl/Lwd. Ohne Rahmen. Holland 17./18. Jhdt. (360661)
