In einer hügeligen, von Vegetation gekennzeichneten Landschaft, die ein Flusslauf durchzieht, sind im Vordergrund spielerisch sechs Kinder dargestellt. Die Gruppe links hält einen Alano Hund: Während das eine Kind ihn an einem Zaumzeug hält, ist die Rückenfigur im Begriff, den Hund zu erklimmen, um ihn als Reittier zu nutzen. Zwei Kinder weiter rechts halten einen Stieglitz an einer Schnurr, während ein Kind am Boden Kirschen und einen Pfirsich verspeist. Besonders ein Gemälde, das bei Christie’s New York am 23. Januar 2004, Lot 48 angeboten worden ist und die Maße 120 x 180 cm hat, erscheint uns als Vergleichsbild besonders tauglich.

A painting that seems particularly suitable for comparison was offered for sale at Christie’s, New York on 23 January 2004, under lot 48 and measuring 120 x 180 cm.
