Die Darstellung bezieht sich auf eine Geschichte aus den Metamorphosen von Ovid. Auf offenem Meer, unter hohem hellblauem Himmel mit weißen Wolken die schöne Galatea auf einem Delfin, die dem verliebten und eifersüchtigen Polyphemus entkommmen ist. Sie trägt einen blauem Umhang, zudem hält sie ihren roten Mantel wie ein wehendes Segel, um den Wind zu fangen, der sie weiter trägt. Begleitet wird sie im Wasser von zwei geflügelten Putti. Für den Triumph der Galatea übliche Darstellung der Zeit. (1351877) (18)
