Das erste Gemälde zeigt das Becken von San Marco vor der Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana mit mehreren großen ankernden Gondeln, die gerade von einer eleganten Gesellschaft in barocker Kleidung bestiegen werden: die Damen in farbenfrohen, weiten langen Gewändern, die Herren mit Dreispitz. Im Hintergrund links die Punta della Dogana mit den großen Kuppeln der Basilika Santa Maria della Salute unter hohem, dramatisch bewölktem Himmel. Das zweite Werk zeigt einen Seitenkanal mit einigen Figuren in Barockkleidung am linken Ufer sowie im Durchblick mehrere Gebäude und Palazzi im vom hellblauen Himmel beschienenen Sonnenlicht.
