Majolika-Relief Maria mit dem Kinde,

Majolika, glasiert. Ganz der Werkstatt der Della Robbia verpflichtet und die Florentiner Renaissance reflektierend, zeigt dieses Relief in seiner Farbfrische und natürlichen Zurückgenommenheit die aus dem Leben der Bevölkerung des 15. und 16. Jahrhunderts kaum wegzudenkende Farbtrias, die uns noch heute an vielen Häusern der Stadt begegnet. Vor einem flächigen mittelblauem Grund ist in Hochrelief Maria dargestellt, deren im Zentrum befindliches Haupt über dem links neben ihr lagernden Jesuskind wacht. Rest. (1300302) (13)

Glazed majolica. This relief is entirely committed to the Della Robbia workshop and reflects the Florentine Renaissance with its fresh colours and natural restraint. We encounter this triad of colours, indispensable in the life of the population of the 15th and 16th centuries, still today on many houses in the city.
