(1280782) (1) (13)

STILL LIFE WITH METAL VESSELS, BIRDS AND GRAPES

One of the Delft painter's strong points was the depiction of metal vessels and their physically correct light reflections and the correct colouration of the respective metal. The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts holds one of his kitchen still lifes.

Cornelis Jacobsz. Delff was still life painter of the Dutch “Golden Age”. Initially a pupil of his father Jacob Willemzs. Delff the Elder (1519-1661) and then of Cornelis van Haarlem (1562-1638).

This object has been individually compared to the information in the Art Loss Register data bank and is not registered there as stolen or missing.
