Als der Bauer Max Raffler über 60jährig in Amsterdam in einem Wettbewerb für Sonntagsmaler den 2. Preis erlangte, wurde sein Name über die Grenzen Bayerns bekannt. Seine Arbeiten sind etwa im Buchheim Museum zu finden.

Seit 1977 in süddeutscher Kunstsammlung.
