Auf einem weiten Feld, das sich bis zum Horizont erstreckt, sind gerade einige Soldaten dabei, einen Wagen mit Reisenden anzugreifen. Auf der rechten Bildseite sind mehrere alte Häuser zu erkennen, teils mit Mauern verbunden. Durch ein kleines Tor in dieser Mauer schreiten einige bewaffnete Soldaten heraus, um den Reisenden zur Hilfe zu eilen. Im Vordergrund ein schwarz gekleideter Reiter auf einem Pferd, der von einem weiteren mit Degen und Hut verfolgt wird. Malerei in überwiegend beige-brauner Farbigkeit, der hohe Himmel jedoch in einem leuchtenden Hellblau mit langen durchgehenden weißen Wolkenformationen. (12704711) (1) (18)
