Vor einer kannelierten Säule mit hellgrünem textilen Behang die Darstellung der an einem Tisch sitzenden Heiligen Maria nebst ihrem Kind, welches auf einem roten quastenbesetzten Kissen Platz genommen hat und seine Hand hinausreicht zu dem Johannesknaben, welcher mit dem Agnus Dei im Begriff ist, sich zu nähern. Hinter Maria ihre Mutter Anna. Besonders in der Bewegung des Christuskindes, auf dem Kissen sitzend, erinnert das vorliegende Gemälde an ein von Paulus Moreelse signiertes Gemälde von 1621, welches Sophia Hedwig von Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel mit ihren Kindern zeigt und im Nationalmuseum Paleis Het Loo in Appeldorn (Inventarnummer RL451) verwahrt wird.
