Halbbildnis eines jungen, in einem Innenraum sitzenden Mannes in weiß-hellblauem längs gestreiften Seidengewand mit passender Kopfbedeckung und einem weißen Hemd mit Spitzenbesatz. Er hält in seiner rechten zarten Hand, deren kleiner Finger mit einem Ring versehen ist, eine gefüllte, geöffnete Weinflasche, mit Spiegelreflex. Der Ring trägt Freimaurersymbole, wie einen Zirkel und einen Winkel. Sein linker Arm ruht auf einem Tisch, auf dem einige wertvolle alte Bücher gestapelt sind, und ein Glas sowie ein goldenes Tintenfass und Federkiele liegen. In seiner Hand hält er ein Notenblatt, das mit „Ronde de Table“ beschriftet ist, sowie mit zwei Notenzeilen und entsprechenden Liedtext versehen ist. Er hat ein feines weiches Gesicht mit leicht geröteten Wangen, einen geöffneten Mund mit weißen blitzenden Zähnen sowie wohl geschwungenen Augenbrauen und leuchtend braunen Augen, mit denen er freudestrahlend aus dem Bild auf den Betrachter hinausschaut. Feine qualitätvolle Malerei mit charakteristischen Gesichtszügen, die eventuell auf einen Stich zurückgeht.
