Provenienz:
Auktion Sotheby’s, London, 17. April 1996, Lot Nr. 662.

Richard van Bleeck,
ca.1670 The Hague – 1733 London, attributed
PORTRAIT OF TWO MEN AND A WOMAN IN A PARK AT COURT Oil on canvas. Old relining.
111 x 139 cm.
In profiled parcel-gilt wooden frame.

Richard van Bleeck was the student of Daniel Haringh (ca. 1636-1715) and Theodor van der Schuer (1634-1707) and was active in The Hague and London between 1695 and 1705. He is recorded in The Hauge in 1727 and then back again in London until 1733. It is likely that some family and group portraits attributed to him fall into his London period as the one on offer for sale in this lot that is listed at the RKD with no. 141228 and dated in the period between 1700 and 1724.

Provenance:
Auction Sotheby’s, London, 17 April 1996, lot no. 662.
Auction Sotheby’s, Amsterdam, 26 April 1977, lot no. 32 as Herman Doncker.

This object has been individually compared to the information in the Art Loss Register data bank and is not registered there as stolen or missing.
