Anbei in Kopie eine Expertise von Alessandro del Priori, o. J., Florenz. Del Priori ordnet das Gemälde eindeutig Giovan Gioseffo dal Sole zu, bildet das Gemälde in seinem Gutachten ab und vergleicht es etwa mit einer Darstellung der Maria Magdalena in der Pinacoteca Nazionale di Bologna. Del Priori weist auch auf die detaillierte Beleuchtungstaktik des Malers hin, welche nicht nur im Schatten der Krone zu sehen ist, der auf die rechte Hand fällt, sondern auch die Tränen in den Augen Katharinas betrifft, die sich glänzend auf den Pupillen abzeichnen. Er datiert das Gemälde um 1690.

Halbfigurige Darstellung der nach links gewandten Heiligen, ihre Brüste durch ihr Haupthaar bedeckt, in ihrer rechten Hand eine Krone haltend. Am rechten Bildrand zeichnet sich vor dem Hintergrund ihr Marterwerkzeug, das Rad, ab. (12103410) (13)

Accompanied by the copy of an experts‘s report by Alessandro del Priori, n.y. Florence. He concludes that the painting was, without a doubt, created by Giovan Gioseffo dal Sole, illustrates the painting in his report and compares it with the depiction of Mary Magdalene held at the Pinacoteca Nazionale di Bologna. He dates the painting around 1690.
