Holz, geschnitzt, gefasst. Auf einem gekanteten Kapitell mit Blattwerk die Standfigur der Apostel, welcher ein Buch und sein Attribut, die Säge, hält. Rückseitig abgeflacht und wohl als Architekturzier gedacht. Weite Reste alter Fassung. Besch.
Anmerkung:
Wie auch Judas Thaddäus galt Simon als Vetter Jesu und verbreitete nach dem Kreuzestod Christi das Evangelium zusammen mit Judas Thaddäus in Babylonien und Persien. Dort seien beide den Märtyrertod gestorben, wobei Simon zersägt wurde. (1160197) (13)
