Nussbaum, furniert. Stege mit Geweihstangen und menschlichen Schädeln. Dammwildgeweih als Mittelsäule. Platte mit Nussbaumfried und Ponyfell. Ungewöhnlicher Tisch, dessen Dekoration aus menschlichen Schädeln in engem Zusammenhang zur Einrichtung des bekannten Sedletz-Ossariums nahe Prag steht. Die Familie Schwarzenberg kaufte 1870 das mittelalterliche Beinhaus und beauftragte den Bildschnitzer Frantisek Rint eine aufwändige Inneneinrichtung zu schaffen, für die ausschließlich die Gebeine von ca. 10.000 Menschen Verwendung fanden. Walnut, veneered. Struts of antlers and human skulls. The central column created of fallow deer antlers. Table top in walnut veneer and pony fur. This table is in close connection with the interior decoration of the famous Sedlec Ossuary near Prague. In 1870, the Schwarzenberg family purchased the Medieval ossuary at Sedlec and commissioned the wood carver Frantisek Rint to organise the bones contained therein. Rint‘s lavish interior decorations were made exclusively from the bones of around 10,000 humans.
